Horticulturist

Bernheim is seeking a Horitculturist, who will be involved arboretum activities including landscape maintenance and installation, working special events, etc. The Horticulturist will operate power equipment as well as a variety of hand tools. A majority of the work will be performed outdoors in the arboretum collections including the native plant habitats, as well as assignments in the greenhouse/nursery facility.

2 years of education in horticulture or related field or equivalent work experience is required. Selected candidate must have or be able to obtain certification as a pesticide applicator Category 3 with the Commonwealth of Kentucky and be able to safely and properly lift 50 pounds.

This is a full-time, year-round position with benefits. Schedule is Monday through Friday, though they are subject to change and may on occasion include weekend work in response to the needs of Bernheim and the Department of Horticulture.
