On March 26, 2020, Bernheim made the difficult decision to close in an effort to control the spread of COVID-19. It was a necessary step to help ensure the well-being and safety of our community, volunteers, and staff. Together we are working toward the same goal: a healthy Kentucky and a healthy nation.
While Bernheim was closed, we continued to support our surrounding communities and deliver our mission, connecting people with nature. As an environmental leader, we are working diligently stewarding over 16,000 acres of pristine forest, maintaining the arboretum, protecting endangered plants and animal species as well as providing remote nature based educational experiences. We hope our continued work has made reopening our gates to our treasured members on July 6 and to all on July 27 seamless.
During Bernheim’s closure, earned revenue was significantly reduced, relying solely on memberships and donations for income. Now, more than ever, Bernheim needs your help!
To support Bernheim during our COVID-19 closure please make a gift toward Bernheim’s Together for the Love of Nature campaign by July 15.
As a token of our gratitude, we are offering special gifts for donations of $120 or more:
As a result of the CARES Act, there are new tax incentives for donating to charities in 2020. Click here to learn more.
