Learn how to identify shagbark hickory, black walnut, pawpaw, and other trees in winter, and uncover fascinating uses of native trees—from the bark that inspired modern aspirin to those used for treating malaria, making beverages, and crafting cordage. Hear intriguing legends, lore, and lesser-known facts as you explore. Dress for the weather, as much of this class will take place outdoors.
