Member Adventure: Night Explorers

June 13 @ 8:30 pm - 10:30 pm

Enhance your Member Adventure: Night Explorers experience with a guided twilight or night hike led by Bernheim naturalists. As daylight fades, step into the forest and experience a different side of Bernheim—where fireflies flicker, shadows stretch, and the nighttime chorus comes alive.

Hikes are offered throughout the evening, each with its own focus. Space is limited to keep the experience small and immersive, and registration is required.

Hike Options:

  • 8:30–9:30 PM | Aquatic Critters (Twilight) — Visit nearby ponds and meet the creatures that call Bernheim’s watery worlds home
  • 8:45–9:45 PM | Beavers & Bats — Look up and down to learn about (and maybe spot) two of Bernheim’s most beloved species
  • 9:00–10:00 PM & 9:15–10:15 PM | Firefly Hikes — Experience Bernheim’s summer firefly display and learn about the insects behind the glow

Basecamp will be open all evening as a cozy gathering spot, with a campfire (weather permitting), fireside snacks, and a simple astronomy activity. Basecamp access is free, but requires separate registration—be sure to reserve your spot on the events calendar.

Please note: Each participant may register for one hike per evening due to staggered scheduling. Hikes take place on natural, uneven terrain in low-light conditions, so closed-toe shoes are required.

$10 per hiker (free for children ages 4 and under). Registration required.

Registration required by 4 p.m. the day prior to the program. No pets, please. Call (502) 215-7155 or click the button below to register.
