Holiday Open House

Kick off the holiday season with shopping, live music and refreshments. Find that special gift for the nature lover in your life, beautiful handmade birdhouses to nature books and many more unique items from our Gift Shop. Bring a friend and enjoy a delightful lunch at Isaac’s Café.

11:30 a.m. – Adult and Children’s Beverages
Grandpa Lundquist Glogg – a Scandinavian Winter Beverage
This nonalcoholic drink is a product of Sweden flavored with spices such as cardamom, ginger, orange bitters and cloves. This sweet and spicy drink will warm you during the cold winter months. It is perfect for heating and serving during the cold holiday season. Glogg comes from the old word which means Burning Embers.
There are five very popular Gloggs: Norwegian, Danish, Scandinavia, German and Swedish.
Did you know that the Forest Giants artist, Thomas Dambo, is from Denmark? Can you guess which Glogg we will be making and trying today? The Danish Glogg. It will be heated and served warm with an orange slice and a cinnamon stick.
What child doesn’t like the color green? A green forest, a green bug, a green ornament, a green drink? Grinch Punch is a punch that does not Stink, Stank or Stunk. It’s a punch that is fun and sure to excite adults as well as the kiddos.
The ingredients include Green Hawaiian Fruit Punch, lime sherbet, Sprite, red sanding sugar and candy canes.
12:30 p.m. – 2 Tasty Snacks
With the help of Wind and Willow, these tasty treats are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.
We will be whipping up a a traditional cheese ball served with Triscuits and dessert holiday ball served with graham crackers.
1:30 p.m. – Kid’s Treats
These cute and completely edible treats will consist of green grapes, halved strawberries, pretzel sticks and marshmallows.
