Films in the Forest

Member Adventure: experience Bernheim like never before – join us for a member-exclusive Films in the Forest event. Enjoy a unique experience after-hours at Bernheim, enjoying a retro film under the canopy of trees in Bernheim’s arboretum.

In celebration of the convergence of science and nature, we will be featuring the 1982 film, E.T. –  A lonely boy befriends a homesick alien stranded on Earth and attempts to help him find a way home. Meanwhile, a group of government scientists attempt to capture the benevolent visitor for research.

Chairs & blankets are recommended. Food and beverages are welcome, but outside alcohol and pets are strictly prohibited.

The cost is $15 for adult members. Children (10 and under) are $10. Additional beverages will be available for sale with a portion of proceeds benefitting Bernheim’s mission, connecting people with nature.

The event will begin 7 p.m. on Friday, October 21. The movie will run from approximately 8:30 -10:30 p.m. We kindly ask that attendees arrive early to set up their blankets and chairs. We recommend that attendees bring a headlamp, flashlight, or lantern to help navigate the trail.

Volunteer Naturalists will be on-site from 7pm-8:30pm with hands-on Discovery Stations for the whole family focusing on misunderstood and nocturnal creatures, snakes, bats, spiders, and more!
