Bernheim Backroads programs provided guided access to Bernheim’s less traveled locations, such as the Wilson Creek Restoration site, hidden beaver ponds, and Bernheim’s historic fire tower. These tours are led by Bernheim’s team of outstanding Volunteer Naturalists, who can help you enjoy and experience deeper connections with these hidden treasures. While much of the 5 hour guided driving tour will take place from the warmth and comfort of a passenger van, there will be oppportunities to stop and explore special places and delightful surprises. Both golden and bald eagles are occasional winter visitors to Bernheim. Early spring can provide a cacophony of breeding frogs calling from Bernheim’s “backyard” wetlands.
Bring a bag lunch and a beverage for a noon-time stop at the Bean House, located deep in the heart of Bernheim.
