Before Bernheim: History of the Land and People

Join Daniel Buxton, Vice President of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, for a presentation that includes mystery, murder, Civil War activity, Jesse and Frank James, and many other people and activities that existed on the land that is now Bernheim. He will follow history from the early colonial period to the 1920s, just before I.W. Bernheim purchased the property. Participants will also learn about family cemeteries and other historical landmarks still onsite.

Buxton is the vice president of the Bullitt County Genealogical Society, former past president and volunteer at the Bullitt County History Museum, a published author, recipient of the Bullitt County Genealogical Award of Service, and a 25 year resident of Bullitt County.

The mission of the society is to collect, preserve, and publish genealogical material of Bullitt and surrounding counties. The 501c3 non-profit organization also strives to help and educate all of those seeking help to learn about their family history.
