Go beyond the familiar and discover the wild edges of Bernheim Forest and Arboretum on a backcountry hike and van tour led by our Volunteer Naturalists. Travel into rarely seen corners, including Wilson Creek, future wetland restoration sites, a moderate 2-mile loop from Overall’s Hollow to Dunn Hollow, and a walk among the towering boulders in Bernheim’s south section.

This adventure includes several moderate hikes totaling about three miles and offers access to areas only reachable with a guide.

For your safety and comfort, sturdy treaded shoes or hiking boots are essential, and hiking sticks are recommended. Please avoid tennis shoes, as trails may be uneven or slippery. Bring water and a sack lunch or snacks to enjoy at the Bean House.
