Frequently Asked Questions
Tickets + Entry
- How can I purchase tickets for ColorFest? Tickets can be purchased online at bernheim.org/colorfest.
- Can I buy tickets on the day of the event? Yes! Tickets will be available both on-site and online for both Saturday and Sunday.
- If I buy tickets for Saturday but decide to come on Sunday, can I get in? Yes! we will honor the tickets for either date of the event but once ticket has been redeemed you cannot use it again.
- Are tickets refundable? No, sorry! Tickets are non-refundable. But think of it as a gift that keeps on giving — your purchase helps support Bernheim, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting people with nature.
- Can I leave and re-enter the event? No re-entry is not permitted once you’ve left the grounds, so be sure to take in all the fun before heading out.
Event Timing + Location
- When does ColorFrest start? ColorFest is a two-day celebration running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on both days.
- Is Bernheim open during the day? Yes! Bernheim opens to the public at 7 a.m. on ColorFest days, tickets will be required to enter beginning at 9 a.m.
Please note: On Saturday, November 1, Bernheim closes at 7 p.m. On Sunday, November 2, due to daylight saving time ending, we’ll close at 5 p.m. — one hour after the event wraps up.
- Where is the event held? ColorFest takes place around the Visitor Center, Playcosystem, and the Event Center hill.
Accessibility + Guidelines
- Are dogs allowed at the event? We love to see pups enjoying themselves at Bernheim — but ColorFest is for people-only due to the large crowds. Dogs are not permitted at ColorFest.
- What are the pathways like around the event? There are paved pathways and roads around the Visitor Center and throughout Playcosystem, providing easy access to popular attractions during the event. Access to the Event Center hill is more limited, with a single path leading to the Event Center porch. Most activities in this area will take place on the grass.
Facilities + First Aid + Safety
- Where are the restrooms located? ADA-compliant restrooms can be found at Playcosystem and the Visitor Center.
- Will water be available? Absolutely! Free, cool water is available at refill stations at the Visitor Center and Playcosystem restrooms. Bring a reusable bottle to stay hydrated and keep ColorFest green and clean.
- Where is first aid if I need it? First Aid Stations will be located in the Visitor Center and the Trading Post in Playcosystem.
In case of a serious medical emergency, call 911.

- Is the event rain or shine? Yes! ColorFest will continue rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, activities may be paused, evacuated, or canceled. Updates will be shared via the main stage at the Visitor Center and Bernheim’s social media channels.
Food + Beverage
- Will there be food? Drinks? Yes and yes! Vendors will be serving up delicious food and refreshing drinks.
Parking
- Where should I park? Event parking will be color-coded, and our friendly parking staff will be there to guide you.
- Need accessible/handicap parking? Just let parking attendants know if you need accessible parking or additional assistance, and they will direct you to the appropriate parking area.
