Bernheim’s Café Manager works under the supervision of the Guest Services Manager to provide support, information and services that benefit our staff, volunteers and visitors.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to instruct and implement staff on their daily duties and expectations, creatively prepare farm to table menus, educate and implement sustainability initiatives throughout the Café that connect and promote our use of the Edible Garden.
As the primary point of contact for Isaac’s Café staff and volunteers, this position is critical in establishing a consistent, cheerful, friendly, professional, and communicative environment at all times.
This position requires an individual that can respond to unforeseen questions and situations in an appropriate professional manner and can assist in the communication between visitors and other staff members. Prioritizing varied tasks simultaneously while maintaining a friendly, organized work environment is a must.
This position will require working at least one weekend day, holidays, and special events as needed. This individual will need to be able to do some lifting and moving of moderately heavy goods. The position requires an individual with a culinary degree or experience with extensive knowledge of farm to table cooking, sustainable practices, and the ability to train Café staff on food handling according to safe food practices.
