Goal: $90,000
In honor of Bernheim’s 90th Anniversary, we ask for your help to reach our goal of raising $90,000 for 90 years of connecting people with nature by August 4th to help us protect Bernheim’s wildlife, land and water. Just like all things big and small have a role in our ecosystem, all gifts big and small make a significant impact in Bernheim being a leader in conservation.
Bernheim’s 25.5 miles of preserved land, 91 miles of streams and 73 bodies of water provide protective habitat for over 1,200 diverse species that walk, fly, swim and slither throughout Bernheim. But, unfortunately due to human’s rising demands all creatures, big and small that call Bernheim home are now under imminent threat!
A new potential pipeline AND a highway development could cut through Bernheim impacting at least nine different outcroppings of Glade Cress, a federally threatened species that grows nowhere else in the world. As well as clear hundreds of forest acreage, effect streams and wetlands and disrupt habitat for rare and endangered wildlife including the Indiana and northern long-eared bats and two species of snails, in addition to many other wildlife species who make their homes in and around Bernheim.
Bernheim is dedicated to continuing to create sustainable forestry and preserve our land, water and wildlife habitats. But we need your support NOW to help continue our efforts! All donations, big or small will have an impact on the future of Bernheim’s biodiversity, land conservation, water quality, and so much more! Together we will strive to protect the future of all things big and small, here at Bernheim!
As a token of our gratitude, we are thrilled to offer special gifts created especially for Bernheim by Louisville-based company, StoryWood Wearables. These one-of-a-kind pieces are made from fallen Bernheim trees, which were sustainably harvested from the forest.
Donors above $1000 will receive all items.
