Bernheim Forest names Clinton Davis as Director of Facilities

Louisville native brings experience and leadership to pivotal oversight role

Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest officials recently announced the appointment of Louisville resident Clinton Davis as Director of Facilities. Bernheim is the largest privately-held forest dedicated to conservation and education in the eastern United States.

Bernheim’s Executive Director Mark Wourms, Ph.D, said Davis is a great addition to the team, bringing vision and experience to this wide-ranging position.

“Davis brings the right skill sets to this role. He has a wealth of technical experience in engineering and project management, and he is a proven leader who will help guide Bernheim now and into the future,” said Wourms. “He also understands and embraces our vision and strategic priorities.”

Davis brings more than 20 years of experience in construction, architecture and engineering. He has extensive knowledge in operations, technology, structural design, building and site sustainability, and facilities maintenance. Davis will manage the maintenance and care of all facilities, roads and infrastructure at Bernheim.

“Taking care of more than 16,000 acres is no small feat. To have someone of Davis’ caliber on board to oversee our facilities and implement improvements throughout our forest and arboretum is a significant asset,” Wourms continued.

Davis’ experience includes work for HBA Architecture & Interior Design and EFI Global Aquatic Access Incorporated. He most recently served as project manager for Louisville Metro Government. Davis holds a Masters of Engineering in Engineering Management and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Louisville Speed Scientific School.

“I am very excited for this new opportunity,” said Davis. “I have a deep admiration for Bernheim and am proud to lead this department in supporting our mission of research, education, conservation and connecting people with nature.”
