Bernheim deals with ‘giant’ spring break

Bernheim Forest had to temporarily shut its gates to guests Wednesday because of a high volume of visitors. The new Forest Giants in a Giant Forest by Danish artist Thomas Dambo has boosted attention for the nature preserve and arboretum.

The forest’s Facebook page posted around 1 p.m. Wednesday it would not be allowing any new visitors between 1 and 3 p.m. because of the crowd. It encouraged those planning to visit during spring break to do so after 5 p.m. or before 10 a.m.
