3-11-14 Edible Garden Update – Solar-Safety-Seeds

This winter has made work in the Edible Garden a bit difficult. But things are rolling fast now. This is a sample of what is going on in the garden right now. 1) An additional glass box was added to create a 12’x24′ space that will soon be covered with a 5000kWh solar panel system that will more than power the garden in it’s final configuration. This project will create more energy than it consumes. 2) Safety railings are being welded to the steel arbor along the pond. We don’t want any accidental swimmers. 3) Garden plants are growing in our greenhouses. Once the weather breaks they will be put out into the garden. It’s a busy place.  Mark your calendars now.  The Edible Garden’s Grand Opening is May 17 in conjunction with Bloomfest and our Spring Plant Sale.  Can’t wait!
