CONNECT at Bernheim

Now in its sixth year, CONNECT at Bernheim again will challenge minds and delight the senses. Artists will set up around Lake Nevin with funky, fun and spontaneous art displays and demonstrations for the second year. This year’s art demonstrations include participants in CONNECTglow, a sculpture challenge in which participants create light sculptures without the use of a generator or AC power. This  juried process will award the the top entrant  $1,000 and $500 for the second prize. ECO Kids Discovery Day: Damsels and Dragons

Observe and identify real life damsels and dragons – damselflies and dragonflies, that is – through today’s On Your Own Challenge. Kids and their families will have fun searching for these amazing insects and then exploring hands-on Discovery Stations during the afternoon. Explore Bernheim at night to observe and celebrate these seasonal and nocturnal changes. Full moon programs weave together stories about the night ecology, moon lore, history and nature. Night hikes keep to open trails and roads so that travel without flashlights is possible. No pets please.…

Today’s Discovery Day includes: On Your Own Challenge, available in the Visitor Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Discovery Stations are at the Visitor Center from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Hike of the Day led by a Bernheim guide, starts at the Visitor Center at 2:00 p.m. and runs 45 – 60 minutes.
