What are you doing this weekend? Why not join us at Bloomfest, Bernheim’s annual celebration of spring! Woodland faerie house construction, the garden faerie parade, flower bed planting, naturalist-led discovery stations, local artisans, food vendors, and a very special birthday celebration are just some of the many activities for everyone to enjoy.
The day also coincides with our annual Spring Plant Sale, featuring Bernheim Select™ plants, a distinctive variety of plants propagated from Bernheim’s own collections, along with a varied selection of other unique trees, shrubs, grasses and perennial herbaceous plants. All plants are suitable for north central Kentucky growing.
The Plant Sale and BloomFest festivities take place in and around the Visitors Center and Bernheim’s Edible Garden, both of which are marking anniversaries — the first anniversary of the Edible Garden’s grand opening and the 10th anniversary of the Visitors Center’s opening. The Visitors Center was the first LEED Platinum certified building in the state and a model for sustainable design.
To celebrate the Visitors Center 10th anniversary, Bernheim will host a birthday party complete with cake for all to enjoy at 2:30 p.m. during BloomFest.
