Get a taste of one of Kentucky’s freshest and local cafés.
What pairs better with a hike in the woods than a delicious and fresh meal or light snack? Isaac’s Café features fresh salads, soups, sandwiches, children’s meals, and delicious desserts. Not only do local farmers provide fresh eggs, cheese, and meats for our cafe, we also source our bread from Breadworks. What makes us even more local? Bernheim provides our own vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers from the Edible Garden, which is directly across the street, literally steps away from the Visitor Center.
Isaac’s menu changes seasonally, based on what is available in the garden. The menu combines tried and true favorites, like the Nutty Bird sandwich with fresh creations for the season. We also offer a variety of selections for vegetarians and vegans. Make sure to ask about the daily specials – special soups, salads, and sandwiches highlight many flavors from across the globe. Need a sweet treat to complete your meal? Ice cream is available seasonally from the Homemade Ice Cream and Pie Kitchen and baked goods from local bakers are available year round.
Would you like a drink with that? We offer coffee made from locally roasted Sunergos Coffee beans, and provide a selection of refreshing bottled drinks including Rooibee Red Tea, which hails from Louisville.
Following Bernheim’s vision of being a nationally treasured leader of ecological stewardship, we aim to serve only the highest quality products with minimal or no environmental impact from locally grown and produced sources. We also promote and support local farms and businesses who are taking steps toward a similar vision.
