Wildflower Hike

The warm days of spring herald the emergence of our wildflowers. Watch the forest floor come alive with color as this age old renewal signals the arrival of warmer weather. Froggy Night Adventure

O Frog, O Toad – you make beautiful music! Join Volunteer Naturalist Joe Cichan (a.k.a. The Frogman of Bernheim) for an awesome evening of amphibian fun. Joe’s quiet enthusiasm for all things amphibian is matched by his extensive knowledge. Dress for the weather and wear appropriate shoes. ECO Kids Discovery Day: Spring Plant Bingo

Kids and their families will have fun searching for spring plants and then exploring hands-on Discovery Stations and Hike of the day during the afternoon. Pollywog Play Parties: Over and Under the Rainbow

Water and sunlight are the two ingredients in a rainbow recipe – a colorful creation, indeed! Early learners will explore color properties through a song and story circle, nature-based adventures and a variety of art, science and play activities. Spring Star Stories and Sky Watch Night

In spring, the stars seem brighter against the night canvas and the woods are waking up from their winter nap. Registration and payment due by 4 p.m. day prior to the start of program. Volunteer Orientation

Volunteers can give a few hours or several hundred hours, providing support to Bernheim and our visitors. While working throughout the forest or arboretum, you can participate in a variety of activities, while having fun in the great outdoors. Take the first step in becoming a Bernheim volunteer by attending this general orientation.
