Laser Guided Star Tour: Explore the Heavens

Each night, fascinating stories are playing out across the heavens. Come watch constellations of scorpions, bears, dolphins and mythological characters come alive as an interpreter shares ancient dreams and laser beams in Bernheim’s night sky. Registration and payment due by 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to the start of the program. Call (502) 955–8512 for last minute updates and changes due to weather. No pets please.

Volunteer Orientation

Connect with People. Connect with Nature. Volunteer at Bernheim. Volunteers can give a few hours or several hundred hours, providing support to Bernheim and our visitors. While working throughout the forest or arboretum, you can participate in a variety of activities, while having fun in the great outdoors. Want to learn more about Bernheim’s volunteer program? Take the first step in becoming a Bernheim volunteer by attending this general orientation training. Readings by Writers in Residence Christian Moody and Margaret Kimball

Co-sponsored by Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest and Sarabande Books, we are proud to present its 2014 Writers-in-Residence, Margaret Kimball and Christian Moody, reading from their work at Bernheim Arboretum and Research Forest. The reading will take place in the Visitor Center Great Room and will be followed by a reception. This event is free and open to the public. The weekend environmental impact fee will be waived for attendees. Please mention the reading at the gate.

Pollywog Play Parties: Nature’s Wonder of Changing Color

The autumn trees are filled with red, orange, yellow and green! Pollywogs investigate leaf colors and other autumn treasures by playing in leaf piles, making leaf rubbings, comparing trees by season, and more. ECO Kids Pollywog Play Parties combine music, art, language, and outside play to encourage infants and children though the age of 5 to learn about nature.
