Laser Guided Tour: Explore the Heavens

Each night, fascinating stories are playing out across the heavens. Come watch constellations of scorpions, bears, dolphins and mythological characters come alive as an interpreter shares ancient dreams and laser beams in Bernheim’s night sky. Registration and payment due by 4:00 p.m. on the day prior to the start of the program. Call (502) 955–8512 for last minute updates and changes due to weather. No pets please.

Central Kentucky Knap-In and Lithic Art Show

Join artists from across the region as they demonstrate the lost art of flint knapping, also known as chipping flint. Knapping involves the shaping of stones like flint, chert, and obsiadian into tools and building materials. At this family-friendly event, modern replicas and pre-historic artifacts will be on display for sale or trade, as well as other primitive arts and crafts. A raffle of items donated by participants will take place Saturday at 4:00 p.m.

Summer Star Stories and Sky Watch Night

Observe the evening sights and sounds of summer with Bernheim’s knowledgeable and engaging Volunteer Naturalists. Summer Star Stories happen rain or shine. In cooperation with the Louisville Astronomical Society. No pets please. Twilight Tour

Journey through Bernheim with a trained naturalist and hopefully encounter creatures adapted to the dark side of day. Bring a flashlight, camera, binoculars and an adventurous spirit…nature will provide the wonders. Twilight tours start around sunset. Expect a small amount of hiking through easy terrain. Space is limited. No pets please. Something new yet ancient appears in the heavens and on earth with each turn of the seasons and each shift from daylight into dusk. Explore Bernheim at night to observe and celebrate these seasonal and nocturnal changes. Full moon programs weave together stories about the night ecology, moon lore, history and nature. Pollywog Play Parties: Life in the Pond
