Vanishing Acts: Trees Under Threat Exhibit

March 15 - July 5

Trees are essential to our health. Embark upon a global journey of trees from around the world and right here in Kentucky that are threatened with extinction. Creatures of the Night: Expedition Fireflies

In the spirit of the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Free Fishing Days, Bernheim’s Mac's Lake and Lake Nevin are open for fishing. Access to Mac's Lake is along the Nursery Loop across from Cedar and Holly Ponds, which are closed for fishing this year. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a day of family fun.  During Family Fishing Days, no license is required to fish.

ECO Kids Discovery Day: Tree Hugging

Millennium Trail Half Hike

Celebrate National Trails Day with Tony Cecil and other Volunteer Naturalists by hiking half of Bernheim’s 14-mile Millennium Trail. Most of this trail section is deeply wooded and includes a trek along Overalls Creek. Participants should wear sturdy shoes, bring a bag lunch, and pack plenty of water. Due to rough terrain and steep hills in some areas, some participants may wish to bring hiking sticks. While the hike includes stops for rest and interpretation, it is open to experienced…

Pollywog Play Parties: Take a Hike

Celebrate National Trails Day with a hiking journey for little feet! Pollywogs will explore the world of outdoor recreation by hiking through the forest, playing at our campsite, decorating trail gear, and much more. Bernheim Big Tree Hug Challenge

Become a part of history! Join us for the Bernheim Big Tree Hug Challenge, where we will attempt to break the Guinness World Record for people hugging trees at the same time at the same location.
