Wildflower Hike

The warm days of spring herald the emergence of our wildflowers. Watch the forest floor come alive with color as this age old renewal signals the arrival of warmer weather. Learn about the life histories and folklore of wildflowers and how we manage for their continuance at Bernheim. Registration and payment are due by 4 p.m. on the day prior to start of program; call (502) 955-8512.

Pollywog Play Parties: Over and Under the Rainbow

Water and sunlight are the two ingredients in a rainbow recipe – a colorful creation, indeed! Early learners will explore color properties through a song and story circle, nature-based adventures and a variety of art, science and play activities. Registration required by 4 p.m. day prior to program; call (502) 955-8512. Fee includes one caregiver and child. Regular $5 environmental impact fee applies at front gate for non-members.

Froggy Night Adventure

O Frog, O Toad – you make beautiful music! Join Volunteer Naturalist Joe Cichan (a.k.a. The Frogman of Bernheim) for an awesome evening of amphibian fun. Eat-A-Weed Workshop

Back by popular demand! Naturalist and wildfoods enthusiast Wren Smith leads this three-hour, hands-on workshop, exploring an unusual alternative to herbicides. Honeybee Installation

Join us Saturday, April 12 at 1:00 p.m. at our Education Center for a honeybee installation! From the safety of our Wildlife Viewing Room, watch as the Bernheim Beekeepers welcome a package of 10,000 buzzing pollinators to their new home. Volunteer beekeepers Bernie Roach, Mac Howard, and Helen Fenske will demonstrate the installation process, explain steps and beekeeping tools along the way, and answer questions during and following the presentation. Don’t miss this buzz-worthy event!
