BloomFest & Spring Plant Sale

Bernheim’s annual celebration of spring will also include local artisans, food vendors, a farmers market, musical entertainment, a series of short garden lectures, and tons of great activities for children including arts, crafts, garden faerie house construction and naturalist-led discovery stations. The day also includes the annual Spring Plant Sale.  The annual Spring Plant Sale features Bernheim Select™, a distinctive variety of plants propagated from Bernheim’s own collections, along with a varied selection of other unique trees, shrubs, grasses, perennial herbaceous plants…

Family Fishing Days

In the spirit of the KY Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Free Fishing Days, Bernheim’s Cedar Pond and Holly Pond are open for fishing. Children must be accompanied by an adult.  Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy a day of family fun.  During June 1 and 2, no license is required to fish. Regular $5 environmental impact fee applies at front gate for Non-members.

CONNECT

Now in its seventh year, CONNECT at Bernheim again will challenge minds and delight the senses.The night includes live musical performances ,a light sculpture competition, and hands-on experiences for adults and families, including making art, drum circle participation, hacker creations and participatory science. Artists will set up around Lake Nevin with funky, fun and spontaneous art displays and demonstrations for the third year. This year’s art demonstrations include participants in CONNECTglow, a sculpture challenge in which participants create light sculptures without the use of a generator or AC…

BugFest & Fall Plant Sale

Join us for BugFest, Bernheim’s annual celebration of insects and their relatives. Families can meet multi-legged creatures, march in the Bug Parade (costumes welcome!), try a chocolate-covered cricket, and much more. Visitors can also browse tree, shrub, and flower species at the Fall Plant Sale, with several pollinator-friendly plants available for purchase.

ColorFest

Visitors can slingshot pumpkins, naviagate the hay maze, make mud pies,  and enjoy a hayride in the splendor of Bernheim’s colorful landscape. Other highlights include live music, hands-on nature activities, unique local foods, Kentucky arts and craft vendors, and more. Interested in volunteering at the event?  Volunteers are vital to the success of Bernheim’s events. Volunteers will receive free admission on the day of their shift and refreshments. Sign up here.
